AND SO IT BEGINS...

When I decided to quit my full-time, good paying, corporate job and venture into being a business owner, my family thought I was crazy!  But this is something I have wanted to do for years.  I have always been able to take the unusual, or the forgotten, and repurpose it. I painted and "upcycled" stuff before it was cool.  Mainly because I was a single mom on a tight budget and had to make something out of nothing.  It was my creative outlet for a very stressful job and I loved reclaiming items.   It only really hit me about 5 years...

Seaside Stories Under a Seaside Lamp

I’m always on the hunt for great bargains at Goodwill and anyone that does reclaimed projects knows that Goodwill is just full of great bargains.  I try to go in not really looking for anything in particular because that is when I usually see something I can reclaim. On the top of my list are these vintage theater chairs - actually, they came out of an old synagogue but I'm going to repurpose them into theaters chairs by simply taking off the back "book" rack, recovering and re-staining the beautiful wood. These chairs will be in an upcoming webisode in which I traveled to...

The Princess Chair

The Princess Chair

Prince George of Cambridge may be the talk of the British tabs but every little girl dreams of becoming a princess. This royal throne will add the perfect touch of happily-ever-after to any child’s room. With a soft palette of pink, this chair is a fairy tale on its own – beginning with a dumpster cast off and ending with an elegant rebirth. With strong bones, the chair was made for the long-haul and just needed a little transformation. We started by sanding those bones, then adding a coat of white primer. Next we added the glimmer of a high...
